Patna: Students and employees of seven state universities in Bihar will now be able to file complaints and track their resolution online, with the Raj Bhavan introducing a digital grievance-redressal system through the Samarth e-Governance portal. The grievance management module has been implemented in Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Patliputra University, Patna University, Purnia University and Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University.Available through the universities’ official websites, the system allows students, employees and other stakeholders to lodge complaints online and track their status, bringing grievance handling under a digital monitoring framework. The move is expected to ease long-standing administrative hurdles in universities, where students and employees often had to make repeated visits to offices to pursue even routine complaints. The online system will create a traceable record of grievances and enable monitoring of their disposal within a stipulated timeframe.Governor’s additional chief secretary Dipak Kumar Singh said the grievance management module would make redressal mechanisms in universities more transparent and time-bound. He said complaints registered digitally could be systematically tracked until disposal.Singh urged students, employees and other stakeholders to make maximum use of the facility, noting that online registration of grievances would reduce the need for frequent visits to university offices. The Raj Bhavan has directed that the facility be extended to the remaining state universities within 15 days, signalling a broader push towards digital governance in Bihar’s higher education sector. The initiative is part of Raj Bhavan’s efforts to develop Samarth into a comprehensive digital governance platform for state universities, with the aim of making university services faster, more transparent, accountable and accessible.
