Shillong: The special investigation team (SIT) of Meghalaya Police on Saturday arrested another Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) functionary in connection with the violence and vandalism during the students’ union’s protest bike rally in Shillong on August 19.Banjop Dkhar, president of KSU’s Shillong Mihngi Circle, is the sixth student leader to have been arrested.KSU president Raymond Kharjana, vice-president Pynkmenlang Sanmiet, general secretary Reuben Najiar, assistant organising secretary Jeremaiah Pohthmi and Mihngi Circle general secretary Samuel Kharbani are in judicial custody.Two vehicles were set on fire, 31 were vandalised and 18 people were assaulted during the August 19 KSU bike rally.
