CHENNAI: A total of 67,516 candidates — including 64,359 school students and 3,157 private candidates — will appear for the Class 12 public exams and Class 11 (arrear) exams between March 2 and 27 in Chennai district, chief education officer M Kabir announced on Sunday.The class 12 public exams are set to be held from Mar 2-16 and class 11 (arrear) exams will be held from Mar 3-27. Of the 64,359 school students, 30,663 are boys and 33,696 are girls from 578 government, government-aided and private higher secondary schools. The examinations will be held from 10 am to 1.15 pm at 250 centres, including a special centre at the Central Prison, Puzhal.Five question paper custody centres and five answer script collection centres have been set up, with 65 routes arranged for transporting question papers. A total of 6,150 personnel have been deployed for examination duty.
