The accident took place at the Badshapur bus stand

Gurgaon: A 65-year-old man was crushed under the tyres of a bus while getting down from it at Badshapur bus stand on Thursday, police said.Mahesh Sharma, a native of Nalanda district in Bihar, had been living in Badshapur with his family for over 40 years. He worked as a carpenter and had recently fractured his hand.His family members said he had been taking the bus frequently to get treatment for his hand.“On Thursday too, he had gone for a medical visit when the accident happened. He came under the bus’s wheels while deboarding and suffered fatal injuries,” an officer said. He died before help could arrive at the scene.The driver and the helper of the bus are being questioned to determine how the accident took place, the officer added.Police have registered an FIR in the matter.In a separate incident, a pickup truck driver was killed Thursday morning after his vehicle collided with another truck near Pachgaon Chowk in Bilaspur.The deceased, Ramratan Yadav, was driving a Mahindra pickup truck from Faridabad to Bawal. In his complaint, Ramratan’s elder brother, Rambhajan Yadav, alleged that a truck being driven recklessly hit the vehicle his brother was driving, which caused him severe injuries.Police received information about the accident through an emergency response vehicle (ERV) at around 6.10 am. “A team reached the spot and found that the pickup driver had succumbed to his injuries. The body was shifted to Govt Hospital for post-mortem examination, and inquest proceedings were carried out,” an officer privy to the investigation said.An FIR has been registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the BNS at Bilaspur police station.
