Online registration for the Common Admission Process (CAP) for MBA admissions began on Thursday, and students require their mark sheets to complete the application process.

Nagpur: A large number of Nagpur University (NU) students are awaiting their summer 2026 examination results even as the new academic session has commenced. As of Thursday evening, the university had declared 353 results, while a majority of the results remain pending.

Adding to difficulties, students claimed the university’s online result portal remained inaccessible on Thursday, with no fresh results uploaded since Wednesday. Several students reported receiving error messages while trying to access their results. MBA students, whose results were recently announced, said they could not view it online due to the portal outage.

University examination officials said the portal is undergoing repairs and is expected to be restored soon.

NU conducted around 1,050 examinations during the summer 2026 session. While some examinations are still underway and may continue into next week, results for several major courses are yet to be declared. In some cases, the university has already crossed its stipulated 30-day result declaration deadline.

The delay has caused anxiety among students seeking admission to professional courses. Online registration for the Common Admission Process (CAP) for MBA admissions began on Thursday, and students require their mark sheets to complete the application process.

Students and colleges are also facing unresolved issues from the winter 2025 examination cycle. Even among the summer results that have been declared, colleges have reported a high number of cases marked as “withheld”.

As per college authorities, many such cases stem from missing records of previous results, while others involve students being incorrectly marked absent or failed in earlier examinations.

College officials also pointed to discrepancies in the tabulation registers (TRs) received from the university.

“Several students have been shown as absent or failed in the summer 2026 tabulation registers, whereas the mark sheets available on the university portal show them as having passed. College representatives have repeatedly approached the examination section, but the issues are yet to be resolved,” a college official said.

According to NU’s academic calendar, the first term commenced on June 16. However, several colleges are yet to begin regular classes as students continue to appear for examinations or await their results.

University examination officials acknowledged the challenges in processing results. They cited the transition to a new examination agency and the lack of access to historical data, along with staff shortages, as key reasons behind the delays.

“The new agency does not have previous examination data, and the varsity is facing a shortage of manpower. These factors have affected result processing,” an official said.
