PDA to launch a new housing project (representational image)

Prayagraj: The Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA) is set to launch a new housing project on land freed from the possession of slain mafia-politician Atiq Ahmed, with booking for 602 flats likely to begin around Diwali.The upcoming apartment project in Kasari-Masari will have a 14-storey group housing complex spread over 9,511 sqm. All 602 flats will be 2BHK units, each measuring more than 56 sqm. The complex will have modern amenities, including eight lifts.PDA vice-chairman Rishi Raj said the project has received RERA approval and construction will begin soon. A bhoomi pujan is likely during Navratri, following which bookings are expected to open around Diwali.Meanwhile, the PDA is also preparing to begin land acquisition for the proposed Aero City near Prayagraj airport. In the first phase, 100 hectares will be purchased for the township. PDA officials have completed discussions with landowners and the acquisition process is expected to start before Diwali.In another move to make its housing schemes more accessible, the PDA will introduce a “first come, first served” system for 465 flats across six housing schemes from Navratri. Buyers will no longer have to wait for a fixed application window and can apply online whenever they wish.The flats will be available in Janhvi Apartment, Manas Vihar and Yamuna Vihar housing schemes in Naini, besides Jagriti Vihar, Mausam Vihar Apartment and Vasudha Vihar housing scheme in Kalindipuram.PDA said the new system is aimed at making the flat-buying process simpler for applicants.
