New Delhi: Until Monday, 59,411 property taxpayers availed of the amnesty scheme 2025-26 being offered by Municipal Corporation of Delhi from June 1 to Sept-end. MCD has so far earned Rs 145.2 crore as the property tax this year. Mayor Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh said MCD organised 2,333 camps across its 12 zones to help owners file their property taxes under the citizen-centric scheme. “To date, 56,753 taxpayers attended these camps. Seeing the encouraging response, MCD plans to organise more camps in the coming days,” he said.Under Sumpattikar Niptaan Yojana, taxpayers can avail of a complete waiver of property tax arrears, including interest and penalties, for periods prior to financial year 2020-21. The benefit is available if taxpayers pay the principal amount of the property tax for 2025-26 and the five previous financial years, from 2020-21 to 2024-25. Taxpayers are required to file their online property tax return by visiting mcdonline.nic.in/ptrmcd/web/citizen/info.The mayor said that for non-defaulters, MCD extended the last date for lump sum payment of property tax with a 10% rebate for 2025-26 to July 31. Women and senior citizens are entitled to an additional 20% discount.
