Hyderabad: Air travel in Hyderabad continued to face major disruption on Sunday, with more than 50 flights cancelled as tensions between Iran and Israel impacted airspace across parts of West Asia.At least 30 arrivals and 25 departures connecting Hyderabad to key Gulf destinations were affected on Sunday. Flights bound for cities such as Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Muscat, Kuwait and other hubs were among the worst-hit, with airlines either cancelling services or rescheduling operations due to airspace restrictions and safety concerns.Passengers were advised to verify flight status directly with their respective airline prior to departure for the airport.According to the ministry of civil aviation, major airports remained on operational alert to manage potential diversions and ensure seamless passenger facilitation. Passenger assistance, airline coordination, and terminal crowd management were closely monitored, with senior officials deployed on the ground.Tight security at US consulateIn light of the Iran-Israel conflict, security at the US Consulate in Gachibowli has been beefed up. The decision was made based on an alert from intelligence sources. Cyberabad police deployed additional armed officers after state intelligence officers received an alert from central agencies to be on high alert.
