NEW DELHI: A five-year-old girl died after allegedly falling from the 10th floor of a residential building at Asha Kiran Apartments in southeast Delhi’s Govindpuri on Saturday evening.According to police, a PCR call reporting the incident was received at Govindpuri police station at around 7 pm, following which a police team rushed to the spot. The child, who had fallen to the ground, was taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.The girl’s father, who works at a local fish market, was reportedly at work when the incident occurred, while her mother had gone to a neighbour’s house.“Preliminary inquiry has revealed that the girl was playing in the balcony when she accidentally fell,” a senior police officer said.Police are examining CCTV footage from the apartment complex and nearby areas and are questioning security guards, residents and the girl’s family members to establish the sequence of events leading to the fatal fall.Further inquest proceedings are underway at Govindpuri police station.
