Mangaluru: Four Instagram pages and one Facebook page were deactivated for allegedly posting provocative and inflammatory content aimed at inciting communal hatred and promoting unlawful activities.The Instagram pages — vhp_bajrangadal_ashoknagar and shankha_nada were booked by Urwa police station under sections 353(1) and 353(2) BNS. Another Instagram page, _dj_bharath_2008, was booked by Kavoor police station under the same sections.The page karaavali_official was booked by Mangaluru South police station under sections 196, 351(3), and 353(2) of the BNS. Meanwhile, a case against the Facebook page Aashiq Maikala was registered at Barke police station.Mangaluru City police commissioner Anupam Agrawal confirmed that all the cases were handed over to the CEN crime police station for further investigation. Authorities also sent official communication to law enforcement agencies seeking action. As a result, the mentioned pages were deactivated and are no longer accessible in India.So far, a total of six Instagram pages and one Facebook page were taken down for posting content deemed provocative and communal in nature.
