Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Monday seized around 5 quintals of adulterated paneer during a raid in Badambadi area raising concerns over the quality of dairy products being supplied to the city. The CMC food safety team intercepted a vehicle bringing paneer from Niali. “We received information that a large quantity of adulterated paneer was being transported from Niali to Badambadi,” said CMC food safety officer Rashmita Sahu.The seized paneer was subsequently examined by the officials, including a taste-based preliminary assessment. “Most of the paneer appeared to be adulterated, and action will be taken as per the food safety regulations,” she said.CMC officials said samples may be sent for further testing to ascertain the nature and extent of adulteration. The civic body is also likely to initiate action against those involved in transporting and supplying the suspected adulterated product.
