Gumla: Five of a family, including three children, were killed and four others were critically injured after the SUV in which they were travelling hit a tree near Agharma village in Simdega district on Thursday, police said.The deceased were identified as Mohammad Mustafa, 58, a resident of Rahat Nagar in Lohardaga district, his wife, Guldam Aara, 48. their relative Anabya Praveen, 3, daughter of Mohsin Hasmi, Ayara Naj, one and a half years, and Arsh Hasmi, 8.The injured included Neha Praveen, 25, Heena Praveen, 28, Umer Nawaz, 5, and Aman Khan, 25, who was driving the vehicle. They were going to Lasia in Kolebira from Lohardaga.“The driver may have dozed off as the brakes weren’t used,” said OC of Kolebira police station, Harsh Kumar. “The victims died on way to the hospital,” he added.The injured were referred to Rims in Ranchi from the referral hospital in Basia in Gumla district, police said.
