Thiruvananthapuram: Home minister Ramesh Chennithala has intervened to facilitate appointment of 43 candidates included in sub-inspector (SI) rank list that is set to expire on June 9.Chennithala has directed additional chief secretary of home department to take urgent steps to ensure that eligible candidates are appointed before the rank list lapses. The move comes as a relief to candidates who were facing the prospect of losing their opportunity for govt service.SI rank list, prepared by Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC), was published on June 9, 2025. Although state govt had extended validity of certain PSC rank lists, this particular list was reportedly not covered under that order, leaving several candidates uncertain about their future.Concerned about the situation, affected candidates approached Chennithala and submitted a representation seeking immediate intervention. The minister reportedly assured them that no eligible person would be denied an appointment.
