New Delhi: A total of 43.52 crore Ayushman cards have been created across the country, including 1.14 crore Ayushman Vay Vandana cards for senior citizens aged 70 years and above, while 36,229 hospitals have been empanelled under the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, as of February 28, 2026.

Of the total empanelled hospitals, 19,483 are public and 16,746 private facilities, expanding access to cashless healthcare services nationwide.

The latest Health Benefit Package offers cashless treatment for 1,961 procedures across 27 medical specialties, with over 11.69 crore hospital admissions worth ₹1.73 lakh crore authorised so far.

On the digital front, more than 86 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts (ABHA) have been created, with over 90 crore health records linked, and more than 2.5 lakh healthcare facilities using Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission enabled software.

The scheme provides health coverage of Rs.5 lakh per family annually for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation and has been expanded to include senior citizens aged 70 years and above, along with frontline workers,” Jadhav said.
