New Delhi: Delhi’s lieutenant governor has approved 427 ancillary posts for 53 newly created Fast Track Special Courts (FTSCs) under Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS), involving a financial implication of Rs 37.37 crore. The approval by LG TS Sandhu covers 58 Readers/Senior Judicial Assistants, 58 Senior Personal Assistants, 58 Personal Assistants, 58 Ahlmads/Judicial Assistants, 58 Assistant Ahlmads/Junior Judicial Assistants, 20 Staff Car Drivers and 117 Multi-Tasking Staff, including a 10% leave reserve. The approval is subject to filling 243 vacant ancillary posts in the existing 415 courts on priority before the new posts are operationalised. The 53 DHJS (Entry Level) judge posts for the FTSCs had earlier been created with Sandhu’s approval.DSCEWA general secretary Arun Yadav welcomed the decision but said existing vacancies must also be filled. “We thank honourable LG and law minister Kapil Mishra for acceding to our request after persistent efforts… But the same will help only if all vacant posts of Sr AO(J), AO(J), SJA, JA, SPA and JJA are filled so that JJAs and JAs who are waiting for promotion for 18 to 20 years get some relief. The situation currently is very serious on ground, and the system is on the brink of collapsing,” he said.
