Noida: The Gautam Budh Nagar police on Thursday declared the entire stretch of the Yamuna Expressway within its jurisdiction (from 0km to 41km) a “No Protest Zone” to ensure smooth, safe, and uninterrupted traffic flow, police said.

The decision follows directions the Allahabad High Court issued on May 22. All forms of protest activities—political, non-political, or otherwise—are strictly prohibited on the designated stretch of the expressway, the statement said.
“Primary objective of this restriction is to prevent disruption to traffic movement and to ensure the seamless passage of both public and commercial vehicles,” added the statement issued on Thursday.
Police said the administration is also taking steps to install informational signage at key locations along the expressway, at police commissionerate office in Sector 108 and at relevant police stations to aware people.
In addition, awareness campaigns are being conducted through various channels to inform the public about the restrictions.
According to a senior official, strict compliance with the court’s order will be ensured. “Continuous monitoring and necessary enforcement actions will be carried out to maintain law and order as well as traffic discipline on the expressway,” added police.
In the past, protests have been reported at the zero point on the Yamuna Expressway in the Gautam Budh Nagar.
Notably, the traffic in Noida and Greater Noida areas, as well as on the Noida Expressway was had been affected multiple times during the farmers protest in 2024 and 2025 while they were demonstrating to demand an increased compensation over their acquired land from the Noida authority
