Bokaro: Four members of a Bihar family, including a man and three women, have been arrested for snatching chains and stealing from devotees arriving at the Jamamo Mata Temple under Tisri police station in Giridih district, police said on Monday.The arrests were made in Nawada district of Bihar as cops launched a probe into the incidents of chain-snatching from women devotees at the temple on Aug 29. A case was registered in this regard by one Ajit Kumar Saw, a resident of Hirodih police station limits. Khori Mahua sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) said, “A special investigation team (SIT) examined CCTV footages from the temple and its surrounding areas and questioned devotees and locals.”A woman, identified as Anshu Kumari, was detained from her rented accommodation. During interrogation, Anshu allegedly confessed to her involvement and provided leads about other members of the gang. Based on her leads, a police team led by Shambhu Nand Ishwar, the officer in-charge of Tisri police station, raided Pratappur village under Sirdala police station in Nawada and arrested Tinkle Mishra and his family members Sarita Devi and Muskan Devi.The SDPO said, “The accused are members of the same family, with a mother, son, daughter-in-law and cousin part of the gang. Police also recovered a stolen gold chain, a gold locket and two mobile phones from their rented house. Their criminal history is being probed.”
