Jhansi: A 20-year-old man and his 23-year-old sister died in a road accident on Saturday morning when the motorbike they were riding hit a stationary truck from behind. The accident took place on Kanpur-Jhansi highway near Nandani weighbridge in Pooch area.As per reports, the deceased, Ishu Ahirwar and his sister Shivani were coming from village Dehghua falling under Kotwali Jalaun, to meet their relatives in Moth.Circle officer, Moth, Ajay Shrotiya, said their motorbike hit a stationary truck from behind leaving the duo in a pool of blood. They were shifted to a local community health centre where doctors declared them dead on arrival.“We have sent the bodies for the postmortem and further investigation is underway,” Shrotiya said.In a similar incident a day earlier, a 45-year-old man and his 28-year-old nephew were crushed to death by a speeding truck on Jhansi-Kanpur highway near Chirgaon.As per reports, the deceased, Sumit Kumar and his nephew Veer Bahadur were returning to their home when a truck hit their motorbike, crushing them to death on the spot.Both were dragged by the truck for over a hundred metres, during which one of the deceased’s head got separated from his body.. The truck driver fled from the site after abandoning the truck.Police have lodged a case and are trying to catch the absconding driver.
