Patna: Police arrested four people on Wednesday in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Anshu Kumar, who had gone missing from Mokama in Patna district on March 23 this year.According to police, Anshu was in a relationship with a teenage girl from Modangachi village under Mokama police station area. During enquiries, the girl’s family assured the boy’s relatives that he would return soon. When Anshu failed to come back, his family lodged a missing complaint on March 23, prompting an investigation.Barh SDPO I Ram Krishna said the probe revealed a pre-planned conspiracy hatched by the girl’s maternal uncle, Gyan Prakash. Prakash contacted Anshu on March 20 and called him to Bakhtiyarpur on the pretext of meeting the girl and discussing their marriage. “Later that night, Anshu was abducted with the help of associates and taken to an isolated location in Harnaut area of Nalanda district, where he was murdered. The body was then concealed in an attempt to destroy evidence,” the SDPO said.Those arrested have been identified as Vijay Kumar, Sanjay Das, the girl’s father, her mother and elder sister, all residents of Modangachi village. Police said evidence, including the knife used in the crime, the vehicle used to transport the victim, five cellphones and Anshu’s slipper, were seized.“A separate murder case has been registered at Harnaut police station. Raids are on to arrest absconding accused,” the SDPO said.
