Bhubaneswar: The higher education department on Wednesday published the third merit list for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the 2026-27 academic session, selecting 53,656 students across various streams.Candidates shortlisted in the third round have been asked to complete their admission process by Aug 1. Of the selected candidates, 21,879 are male, 31,773 are female and four are transgender students.The department stated that there is a total of 2,87,519 UG seats this academic year. During phase-I of the admission process, 2,37,200 students had applied for these seats. While 88,480 students secured admission through the first merit list, another 30,150 enrolled after the second list, taking the total admissions so far to 1,18,630.Among the streams, Ravenshaw University continued to record the highest cut-offs. In Humanities, the highest cut-off was 94.80% for English, while in Physical Science, Physics at Ravenshaw registered the highest cut-off of 95.67%. In Commerce, the university recorded the highest cut-off of 91.83%.In Biological Science, Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (Autonomous) College recorded the highest cut-off of 93.50% for Zoology. In self-financing courses, the same college registered the highest cut-off of 92% for Computer Science.For the five-year integrated BA LLB programme, Madhusudan Law University recorded the highest cut-off of 86.50%. In the Shastri stream, Sanskrit (Degree) College, Badakia, recorded the highest cut-off of 58.29%.The department advised all candidates selected in the third merit list to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated deadline to secure their seats.
