Guwahati: A 3D show for children will complement Maligaon Kalibari’s ecosystem-themed Durga Puja pandal this year, highlighting the impact of environmental destruction.“Visuals and a sound system would be placed to create an immersive experience for young visitors, presenting elements of nature in a format that goes beyond the usual pandal decorations. We intend to use the audiovisual presentation to engage children, while conveying a message about the need to protect the environment,” said Subhajit Nath, secretary of the committee. The presentation is part of the pandal’s broader theme, which combines artificial structures with natural elements to depict the interconnectedness of the ecosystem. Through the show, the committee aims to highlight how human activities affect nature and why environmental degradation cannot be treated as separate from human life.“This year, the 3D show has been designed with children in mind, using visuals and sound to introduce younger visitors to the consequences of environmental destruction. Recent disasters, including floods in Assam and Nepal and landslides in Nagaland, have highlighted the devastating impact of extreme weather events on human lives and communities,” he added.
