Vadodara: The Maharaja Sayajirao University (MSU) has disbursed Rs 39.24 lakh under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0 to support student-led innovation and intellectual property initiatives.The funding covers 19 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects and 17 proposals for intellectual property rights (IPR) filings, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and research-driven innovation among students.Of the total amount, Rs 28.37 lakh has been allocated for PoC projects and Rs 10.86 lakh for IPR proposals. In the first phase, 40% of the sanctioned funds has already been released to ensure timely execution of projects.MSU vice-chancellor Prof Bhalchandra Bhanage handed over sanction letters to student innovators and encouraged them to turn their ideas into solutions that benefit society and contribute to national development.SSIP coordinator Prashant R Murumkar said the initiative will strengthen the university’s innovation ecosystem and motivate students to pursue translational research, technology development and intellectual property creation.
