Shivamogga: Police have arrested the key accused in a 37-year-old robbery case, who had been absconding since the crime.The accused, Abdul Khadar aka Monu, 57, a native of Perra in Bajpe taluk of Dakshina Kannada district, was tracked down to Varkady village in Kerala by a Karnataka police team. He was brought back to Shivamogga Wednesday.He was produced before the Shivamogga Sessions Court and remanded in judicial custody. Further legal proceedings are under way, police said.According to police, Khadar had gone into hiding after the robbery in Mrugavadhe village of Shivamogga district in 1989 and had evaded arrest for nearly four decades.Owing to his prolonged abscondence, the Shivamogga Sessions Court had declared him a proclaimed offender.
