Shivamogga: To ensure peace and maintain law and order ahead of Eid festival, Shivamogga District police have deployed nearly 3,000 police personnel across the district. Twelve KSRP platoons, one RAF platoon, one Special Investigation Team/Reserve platoon, and 21 District Reserve platoons have been assigned the job, SP B Nikhil said on Monday.Over the last three weeks, police held extensive peace meetings with leaders of mosques and various community committees to address issues, issue necessary guidelines, and establish a joint control plan and exercise plan in coordination with all govt departments. Nikhil emphasised strict adherence to Supreme Court guidelines regarding speaker decibel limits, warning that immediate legal action will be taken against anyone attempting to incite hatred or disturb communal harmony through speeches, actions, or rally disruptions.He said preventative actions have already been taken by externing 13 individuals from the district and initiating security proceedings against 312 potential trouble-makers. Furthermore, 36 check posts have been established across the district, while the police department has also begun monitoring social media, Nikhil said
