Kanpur: Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University administration has suspended three students accused of attempting to gangrape a student on campus, while police took the three into custody and began interrogating them.Police recorded the complainant’s statement and conducted her medical examination. On Wednesday, students from the department concerned reached the ACP office and got their statements recorded. The entire sequence of events was reported to Jan Bhavan as Governor is Chancellor of all state universities.CSJMU administration called a meeting of the internal committee on Wednesday. VC Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak said matter is under investigation and CCTV footage is also being examined. ACP Kalyanpur Ashutosh Kumar said the girl’s medical examination was conducted and her statement was recorded in court on Wednesday. The incident dates back to Mar 16. The girl had complained that her classmates called her to a classroom for a meal and molested her, attempting to gangrape. When the student raised alarm, they threatened to kill her. She informed her father, who filed written complaint at Kalyanpur police station on Mar 30.Her father said the three accused had threatened to kill her daughter and the family by brandishing pistols and sharp weapons.
