Sanjay Sahay | TNNRanchi: The chief of the notorious Jhangur gang, an organised crime group, surrendered before Ranchi and Gumla police along with his two active members on Saturday, police said adding that they also laid down two automatic arms, 45 cartridges and two magazines along with other articles.Among the surrendered criminals are group head Ramdeo Oroan (47), and members Prasad Oroan (24), and Subash Oroan (23), all natives of Gumla district. Ramdeo is an accused in 29 cases and the state govt has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh on his arrest.Police on late Saturday evening informed that Ranchi senior superintendent of police Rakesh Ranjan received information that Ramdeo along with his accomplices was on the move in the bordering area of the district with the intention to surrender under state govt policy. Similar inputs were collected by the Gumla district police.Police teams sent by both the districts reached the borders to locate the criminals.Ramdeo was an accused in 10 cases of murder apart from crimes like attempt to murder, theft and violation of the Arms Act. The cases were mostly registered with the Bishunpur and Ghaghra police stations of Gumla district. Prasad is an accused in two cases, including one of murder.
