Panaji: State govt started investigating the causes that led to the unlawful gathering outside the residence of TCP minister Vishwajit Rane on Feb 23.State govt constituted a three-member fact-finding committee under the chairmanship of revenue secretary Sandip Jacques. The other two members are South Goa collector Egna Cleetus, and SP Tikam Singh Verma.“The committee will investigate the causes and lapses that led to this unlawful gathering outside the residence of the minister. The report will be submitted by the committee to this office at the earliest for onward submission to govt,” chief secretary V Candavelou said.Goa police filed an FIR against leader of opposition Yuri Alemao, Congress Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira, AAP Benaulim MLA Venzy Viegas, AAP Velim MLA Cruz Silva, RGP president Manoj Parab, activists, and around 1,500 supporters for allegedly marching to the residence of Rane at Dona Paula and allegedly blocking the road for nearly eight hours.
