Dumka: Three members of an interstate gang were arrested for allegedly robbing a jewellery store in Amrapara market in Pakur on Sept 2, police said on Saturday. Looted ornaments, firearms, ammunition, cash and a motorcycle used in the crime were seized from their possession, Pakur SP Anudeep Singh said.Akash Verma, the owner of Kishan Verma Jewellers near Durga temple in Amrapara market, had registered an FIR alleging that three armed men had looted his store on Sept 2. A police team constituted to probe the robbery arrested Praveen Kumar, Harsh Yadav and Kamal Kishore. While Praveen is a resident of Deoghar district, Harsh and Kamal are residents of Banka district in Bihar.

Two country-made pistols, one country-made handgun, five live cartridges, two .315-calibre cartridges looted jewellery and Rs 12,700 in cash were recovered from the accused.“The arrests were made within 10 days of the robbery. Involvement of other people in the robbery is being ascertained,” SP added.
