Malda: Three youths from Bihar were arrested on Sunday for allegedly flying a drone near the helicopter of chief minister Mamata Banerjee. The trio was detained immediately after the incident on Saturday.The CM was addressing a public meeting at Samsi in support of candidates from Malatipur, Ratua and Harishchandrapur. After concluding her speech, she was preparing to board her helicopter for her next rally in Gazole when she noticed a drone flying close to the aircraft. She immediately directed police to investigate.The accused were identified as Ankit Paswan, Srikant Mandal and Noor Aktar, all residents of Katihar in Bihar. They were produced before a Chanchal court on Sunday.The arrested youths claimed they had no malicious intent and were merely attempting to shoot a reel as part of campaign activity. They said they were members of the social media cell of Matibur Rahman, Trinamool candidate from Harishchandrapur, who was present at the meeting. Rahman, however, declined to comment on the matter.
