Kota/Pune: Three friends from Pune died on the spot after their car went out of control, hit a divider and plunged off a flyover on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Balapura village in Kota on Wednesday morning.The police identified the deceased as Sidhant Alaat, 21, Kunal Chordiya, 25, and Mayurewa Padle, 23, residents of Wakad, Mahalunge and Pimpri, respectively.They were returning from a Leh-Ladakh trip with seven other friends in three cars when one of the vehicles fell off the flyover, said Manoj Sikarwal, SHO of Kaithoon. Sikarwal said the three occupants suffered grievous injuries and were taken to a local hospital, where doctors declared them “brought dead”. The autopsy of the deceased was conducted at the mortuary of CHC Kaithoon.The Pimpri Chinchwad police said the three deceased were students and had travelled to Jammu and Kashmir and Leh-Ladakh along with their friends for a vacation. The police said their trip was extended after the group got stranded in Kargil for three to four days because of heavy snowfall. Maval MP Shrirang Barne said he had coordinated with Border Security Force officials to facilitate their evacuation after they approached him for help last week. Barne said he had been in touch with the families. The families of the deceased youths have reached Kota. Chinchwad MLA Shankar Jagtap said he spoke to the families and confirmed that one of the deceased was a classmate of his son at a city college.
