Kanpur: A three-day entrepreneurship conclave was inaugurated at Chandrashekhar Azad Agriculture and Technology University Kanpur during its Golden Jubilee year celebrations. The university signed MoUs with three state institutions HVTU, IIT Kanpur and FFDC Kannauj on the occasion.Vice-chancellor K Vijayendra Pandian welcomed the guests. A short film based on the history of MSME and Agriculture University was screened. More than 150 stalls were set up in the exhibition and various technologies were demonstrated.Minister for micro, small, khadi and medium village industries, Rakesh Sachan said that over 19 lakh youths in the state have been made self-reliant by providing them loans. In this 3-day conclave, discussions will be held on manufacturing, food technology, textiles and other technologies.Chief guest, minister for agriculture Surya Pratap Shahi, said that under the joint aegis of MSME and agriculture, employment opportunities would be created for youth in new sectors. He thanked the university for developing innovative varieties and emphasised the need to increase the area and production of pulses and oilseeds. He stressed on the establishment of agriculture-based industries.Stalls of various enterprises were displayed during the event. Three books authored by scientists were released. HVTU VC Prof Shamsher, MLA Surendra Maithani, MLA Neelima Katiyar, director Extension V K Tripathi, Dean Faculty of Agriculture Kaushal Kumar, Mahak Singh, RK Singh and Director General of UP Agricultural Research Council Sanjay Singh, along with several officers and scientists, were present.
