UDUPI: Three persons were caught on CCTV abducting a cow from a garage near Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple in the early hours of Wednesday.In a complaint, Maniraj, 27, from Heranjalu village, Byndoor, reported the theft of a cow that was resting at a garage opposite the main hall of Shri Durga Parameshwari Temple in Uppunda village. Upon receiving information about the incident, he visited the spot and reviewed CCTV footage from Banashankari Auto Works.The footage revealed that at around 2:40 AM on Wednesday, three persons arrived in a five-seater compact SUV and entered the garage. They were seen forcefully abducting the cow, which was lying inside the garage, with the intent of slaughtering it for meat, he alleged.Based on the complaint, a case was registered at the Byndoor Police Station under Sections 303(2) of the BNS, Sections 4, 5, 7, and 12 of the Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2020, and Section 11(1)(D) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.
