Udupi: Kota police have arrested three persons in connection with a case involving alleged abuse, threats to kill and extortion threats issued to a complainant over keeping govt-supplied rice bags in the courtyard of his house. The case was registered at Kota police station on Aug 31, under Sections 308(2), 308(4), 329(3), 352, 351(2), 248, 3(5) of the BNS. Acting under the guidance of Udupi subdivision DSP Belliappa KU and Brahmavar Circle inspector Gopikrishna, a team from Kota police station arrested Nagendra Putran alias Nagendra KK, 37, from Kotathattu village, Brahmavar taluk, and P Sumant Kundar,40, of Parampalli Padukere, Parampalli village, Brahmavar taluk. The two were arrested on Wednesday near the exhibition grounds opposite the Mysuru Palace and produced before a court. Another accused, Sachin Shreeyan,32, from Sasthana post, Brahmavar taluk, was arrested on Tuesday and produced before a court. The arrests were made by Kota police sub-inspectors Praveen Kumar R (law and order) and Mahantesh Jabagowda (investigation), along with police constables Vijayendra, Sharath and Shivraj.
