Patna: Police on Wednesday night arrested a man involved in a kidnapping case and safely rescued three abducted youths from Ramakrishna Nagar area of Patna within eight hours of receiving information. The arrested accused was identified as Rajkumar Rajan (30), a resident of Panchsheel Nagar under Barh police station in Patna district. He has been sent to judicial custody.The incident came to light after Ramakrishna Nagar police received a zero FIR from Harnaut police station in Nalanda district. The complainant, Jitendra Kumar of Shrichandpur village, alleged that three persons were kidnapped and a ransom of Rs 5 lakh was demanded for their release.After registering a formal FIR, a dedicated police team was constituted, which used technical surveillance and human intelligence to trace the kidnappers’ locations. All three victims — Ankit Kumar (17), son of the complainant; Nitish Kumar (22) of Pahadpur village; and Mukesh Kumar (27) of Cheram village — were rescued from different locations.Rajeev Kumar, SHO of Ramkrishna Nagar, said, “Prima facie, it appears that the kidnappers abducted the youths over a money dispute. Around five people are involved in kidnapping, which took place in Harnaut police station area in Nalanda on April 7. The police team traced their location in Patna and informed us. Two youths were rescued from Barh, which led to one arrest, while the third was rescued from a toll plaza. Raids are going on to track and nab the other accused.”
