Srinagar, Oct 05: A mild earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale struck Pulwama district in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening, sending tremors through parts of south and central Kashmir.

According to seismic data, the earthquake was recorded at 6:44 pm at a shallow depth of around 5 kilometres. The epicentre was located approximately 28 kilometres southeast of Srinagar, at coordinates 33.890°N latitude and 74.992°E longitude.

Given its shallow depth, the tremor was felt in several adjoining areas, particularly across parts of south and central Kashmir.

No reports of casualties or damage to property had emerged immediately following the earthquake.
