Ahmedabad: The 21st batch of the one-year MBA programme (PGPX), also known as the executive MBA, at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) commenced with a cohort of 160 students. The batch comprises 114 men and 46 women, with women accounting for 28% of the class.According to institute officials, the batch brings an average work experience of seven years and six months, while the average age of participants was 30 years.A statement issued by the institute stated that nearly one-third of the students have international exposure through work or academic engagements. The cohort represents a diverse mix of sectors, including banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI), consulting, energy and utilities, IT and IT-enabled services, manufacturing and engineering, defence and security, retail and e-commerce, FMCG, aerospace and aviation, healthcare, and transportation and logistics.In terms of sectoral representation, the largest share comes from BFSI, consulting, and energy and utilities with 22 students, followed by IT and ITeS (15), manufacturing and engineering (14), defence and security (10), and retail and e-commerce (7).Meanwhile, the institute also announced the results for its flagship two-year Post Graduate Programme (PGP) on Monday, with the incoming batch set to join soon. Among the PGPX participants, a majority of 108 students secured admission through the GMAT Focus Edition, while 33 candidates qualified via GRE and 19 through the GMAT.
