T’puram: A 27-year-old youth was found dead by suicide on Monday morning at Chirayinkeezhu, days after a police case was registered against him following a complaint by family of a woman he was in a relationship with. The deceased is Kiran Kumar, of Thonnakkal. According to Chirayinkeezhu police, the incident occurred around 6am at the house of a close friend in the area, where Kiran stayed for the past two days. He was found hanging inside the house and was immediately rushed to govt taluk hospital, Chirayinkeezhu, where he was declared brought dead.The case against Kiran was registered by the woman’s family alleging that private visuals of the woman, recorded on Kiran’s mobile phone, were circulated. Based on the complaint, police booked four persons, including Kiran.Sources close to Kiran said he was under severe mental distress after the case was registered. He reportedly told his relatives and friends that he did not share or circulate the private visuals and suspected that the content stored on his phone may have been leaked by someone else without his knowledge. Police officials said these aspects would be examined in detail as part of the ongoing probe. Suicides are preventable and help is just a phone call away.
