Udupi: Around 27 fishermen were rescued after a purse seine fishing boat developed a crack and began taking in water about three nautical miles off the Gangolli coast on Wednesday. The boat was reportedly hit by strong waves, damaging its hull and causing water to enter. Fearing that the vessel might capsize, the fishermen alerted the authorities and sought assistance.Coastal Security Police (CSP) immediately launched a rescue operation, and with the assistance of local fishermen and crews of nearby fishing boats, rescued all the fishermen in distress, and brought them safely ashore.
