Nagpur: Two separate incidents in the city on Wednesday claimed the lives of a 25-year-old lawyer and a 14-year-old boy, with police probing the circumstances surrounding both deaths.In New Futala, a 25-year-old lawyer was found hanging at his rented flat on Wednesday evening, with police recovering a note in which he apologised to his parents and wrote, “Mom and Dad, I could not stay with you; I’m sorry.” The deceased, Dadaji Gajbhiye, was a native of Digras in Yavatmal district. After completing his law studies, he had recently started practising under a veteran advocate.PI Vinod Godbole of Ambazari police station told TOI that Dadaji’s mother tried calling him on Wednesday evening but received no response. She then contacted his landlord, Bhalavi, and asked him to check on her son. Bhalavi knocked on the door but received no response. With the help of neighbours, he broke open the door and found Dadaji hanging inside. He informed Ambazari police and the deceased’s relatives.In a separate incident, a 14-year-old boy died after allegedly jumping from the terrace of a 12-storey building in Beltarodi on Wednesday afternoon. Police said a preliminary examination of CCTV footage ruled out foul play. The incident occurred at a high-rise building in the area between 3.30pm and 4pm. The teenager, who belonged to a well-to-do family, was rushed to a hospital soon after the fall but succumbed to his injuries later in the night.Police said CCTV footage showed the boy as the only person entering the terrace around the time of the incident. The footage was examined as part of the preliminary investigation, following which police ruled out the possibility of another person accompanying him. The family has been unable to explain what may have prompted the teenager to take the extreme step. “It would be difficult to assume the reason at this stage, but we are probing all angles,” a Beltarodi police officer said.
