Patna: Chief minister Samrat Choudhary on Wednesday visited 24 Avatar Dham of Chakoti Muth in Khanpur block of Samastipur district, where he attended the grand Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav-cum-Vishnu Mahayagya and Sant Mahakumbh as the chief guest.Amid Vedic chants, the CM offered prayers and performed rituals before the idols of the 24 avatars of Bhagwan Shri Mahavishnu and other deities. He prayed for peace, prosperity and the welfare of the state.Addressing saints, sages, religious leaders and devotees, Choudhary said the 24 Avatar Dham of Chakoti Muth would emerge as a major centre of faith and spiritual consciousness for devotees from across the country. He said religious and spiritual gatherings have an important role in preserving and promoting Indian culture and Sanatan traditions. Such events, he added, spread positive energy in society and strengthen social harmony, moral values and nation-building.Shri Shri 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Ram Sevak Das Shastri Ji Maharaj felicitated the CM with a garland and a ‘paag’. Samastipur MP Shambhavi Choudhary, local public representatives, sevadars of the muth and a large number of devotees welcomed him in traditional style with makhana garlands, ‘angavastra’ and bouquets.Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Choudhary, health minister Nishant Kumar, transport minister Damodar Rawat, several public representatives and a large gathering attended the programme.Earlier, the CM visited Jamui district and paid floral tributes to former Union minister and former Banka MP late Digvijay Singh at a meeting held on his 16th death anniversary. The event was organised at the memorial site on the banks of the Nagi-Nakti-Kathara river at Nayagaon. Attendees remembered Singh for his public service, development initiatives and dedication to society. His wife, former MP Putul Kumari, and daughter, industries and sports minister Shreyasi Singh, were also present along with family members and supporters there.
