Badlapur: A 23-year-old man was found dead with a bullet injury to his chest at a cricket turf inside a farmhouse in Badlapur on Saturday late evening, with police investigating whether the death was a case of murder or suicide.The deceased, identified as Bhuvan Krishna Patil, operated the cricket turf business at the farmhouse in Sagaon village. His body was found on the premises, prompting an investigation by the Kulgaon police.After being alerted, officers from Kulgaon police station, along with a forensic team, rushed to the spot and collected evidence. During the preliminary investigation, police found that Patil sustained a single gunshot wound to his chest. A revolver was recovered from near the body.An assistant police inspector, Shivaji Dhavale, from Kulgaon police station said CCTV footage from the farmhouse showed Patil was alone at the cricket turf when the incident occurred. “The footage indicates it could be a case of suicide. However, we are also investigating the possibility of murder. The exact cause of death will be established only after the post-mortem report, forensic analysis and completion of the investigation,” the officer said.
