Vasai: Despite a monsoon ban on visiting beaches, large crowds gathered at Arnala Beach over the weekend, prompting action by the Arnala Sagari Police. A total of 23 tourists were booked under the Mumbai Police Act for violating prohibitory orders, while two motorcyclists were charged under the Motor Vehicles Act for performing dangerous stunts on the beach.Authorities prohibited entry to beaches and venturing into the sea from July 1 to Aug 31 due to rough sea conditions and the risk of accidents. Senior inspector Satish Nikam urged the public to strictly follow the safety restrictions.
