Jhansi: The 19th edition of the Prime Minister’s ‘Rozgar Mela’ was organised on Saturday at the Pandit Deendayal Sabhagar by the Jhansi Railway Division, where 220 selected candidates received appointment letters for various departments under the Central Government.Union Minister Jitin Prasada inaugurated the event in the presence of Jhansi-Lalitpur MP Anurag Sharma, additional general manager of North Central Railway, Shashi Prakash Dwivedi and divisional railway manager, Aniruddh Kumar.Out of the 220 appointment letters distributed, the highest number of candidates, 196, were recruited in the Railway Department, including 155 from Jhansi Division and 41 from Prayagraj Division.Besides this, 24 candidates selected in departments such as India Post, ESIC, ITBP and banking services also received appointment letters.Speaking on the occasion, Jitin Prasada said that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, employment generation for youths has been given top priority and the Rozgar Mela is an important initiative in that direction.MP Anurag Sharma said that the Rozgar Mela reflects the PM’s commitment towards providing opportunities and accelerating employment generation for the youth.On this occasion, PM Narendra Modi addressed newly recruited candidates across the country through video conferencing and distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters nationwide.Congratulating the selected youths, he called upon them to actively contribute towards nation building and said that the role of young people would be crucial in achieving the vision of a developed India.
