Ahmedabad: A 22-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 24-year-old youth in Danilimda area, with police attributing the murder to an old rivalry.The accused, identified as Sohil Pathan, was arrested by the Danilimda police for his alleged role in the murder of Hussain Saiyed, a resident of Behrampura.According to the FIR lodged by Hussain’s elder brother, Azal Saiyed, the incident occurred near Rasul Gali on Tuesday night. The complainant stated that the family was at home when Hussain called his father, informing him that he was returning from Ellis Bridge.Later in the night, two to three youths arrived at the family’s residence and informed them that Hussain was stabbed. Azal, along with his parents, rushed to the spot and found Hussain lying in a pool of blood.One Mohsinkhan Pathan told the family that Hussain was attacked by a group over an old dispute.The FIR names a man identified as “mama” as the main accused, alleging that he stabbed Hussain below the neck with a knife. Sohil and another accused, Asif, allegedly restrained the victim during the attack, while Mohsin and Javed were accused of assaulting him.
