Srinagar, Feb 21: Srinagar on Saturday recorded a maximum temperature of 21.°C, the highest ever for the city in February, according to the Meterological Centre Srinagar, beating the previous record of 20.6°C set in 2016.
According to the MeT, Gulmarg also witnessed a sweltering day, recording its highest-ever February temperature at 11.5°C, surpassing the 1993 record of 11.4°C. Meanwhile, Kokernag registered its second-highest February temperature at 18.3°C, just shy of the all-time high of 18.4°C set in 2016.
The heat is expected to intensify, with the Met Centre Srinagar predicting a further rise of 1-2°C in maximum temperatures across many areas over the next six days.
