Gurgaon: A 21-year-old man was allegedly run over by an SUV in Faridabad on Saturday night. A murder case was registered after the Scorpio hit Tarun in Fatehpur Billoch village between 9.30pm and 10pm, police said.The SUV driver fled the spot. Police have seized the Scorpio and raids are being conducted, they said, adding the motive behind the “killing” is being probed.After attending a gathering with friends at a building material shop in the village, Tarun, who worked at a private company in IMT Faridabad, was heading home on his motorcycle when the black SUV rammed into him. The impact threw Tarun and his motorcycle nearly 20 metres. His friends rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead.Tarun’s family alleged that the vehicle was occupied by Sagar, Vikas and Narayan, “who deliberately hit” him because of an old rivalry. The family claimed that Sagar came out on parole three to four days before the incident and has several criminal cases registered against him. Police spokesperson Yashpal said, “We are verifying the cases registered against Sagar.” A case under Section 103(1) of the BNS (murder) was registered at Sadar Ballabhgarh police station, he added.The CCTV footage showed that the SUV, being driven at a high speed, rammed into the motorcycle, which threw Tarun a few metres. The footage showed that Tarun was earlier standing with his friends before the incident occurred. The motorcycle was completely mangled in the impact.
