Vadodara: A man allegedly involved in snatching gold chains from women was arrested by the Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) sleuths in the city on Saturday.Police said they received information about a suspicious man riding a two-wheeler in the Panigate area, following which they detained him. During a search, cops found a gold chain in his pocket. He could not give a satisfactory explanation about the ornament.The accused, identified as 21-year-old Yogesh Kahar, admitted that he had snatched the chain along with his accomplice, a minor.Kahar told police that the duo had snatched the chain from a woman who was out for a morning walk on Ajwa Road a few days ago.An offence was subsequently registered against him at Bapod police station.Police said Kahar had also been arrested in a vehicle theft case registered at Panigate police station in 2023.
