Berhampur: A 20-year-old medical education aspirant in Haladiapadar near here died by suicide by allegedly hanging herself in her house on Friday for not being able to clear the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG), barely hours after the results were published. The deceased was identified as Sanchita Sahu.After getting information from her family, police rushed to the spot. She was sent to MKCG Medical College and Hospital, where the doctors declared her brought dead, said police.The body was handed over to the family members after autopsy. The exact cause of death will be ascertained only after getting the autopsy report, said IIC, Golanthara police station, Tuna Sasamal.Sources said the deceased appeared for the second time in NEET this year. She was hopeful of securing 600 out of 720 marks. Her parents do not know how many marks she secured. She secured good marks in HSC and Plus II exams but was unable to qualify for a medical seat.
