Palanpur: A special Pocso court in Idar sentenced a 20-year-old man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs 3.40 lakh for abducting and repeatedly raping a 13-year-old girl.According additional public prosecutor P J Soni, the convict, Vivek Pandor, a resident of Mota Kanthariya, abducted the 13-year-old girl from the village on March 27, 2024, and confined her at a secluded near the Hathmathi river in Bhiloda for four days. He subsequently took her to the Ambali market, where he raped her repeatedly.After the girl returned home, she told her family what had happened. During the subsequent investigation, police arrested the accused and filed a chargesheet in the case, Soni said in a press statement.The prosecution produced documentary evidence and witness testimonies before the court, after which the court of special Pocso judge M Y Radhanpurwala found Pandor guilty.
