Varanasi: Two youths were killed after a speeding SUV hit their motorcycle near Chhittu Patti village under Saraimeer police station of Azamgarh district late Sunday night.The deceased were identified as Mithilesh Yadav (27), a resident of Chakkot Khankah village and Sachin Kumar (25), a resident of Gahukhor Hasanpur.According to reports, Mithilesh was going to a private nursing home in Sanjarpur market to meet a relative. His friend Sachin Kumar was driving the bike. Around 1 am, when they reached near Chhittu Patti village, the speeding vehicle hit their motorcycle. Both of them fell on the road following the collision.Hearing the sound of the crash, villagers rushed to the spot and informed Saraimeer police about the incident.Station in-charge Bhuvanesh Chaube said the driver fled the spot with the vehicle after the accident The police are examining CCCTV footages to identify the driver and the vehicle. An FIR has been registered against the unidentified driver.
